About the Role We are seeking a GIS Integration Specialist who will act as a bridge between customers’ GIS systems (primarily ArcGIS/Esri) and our client’s proprietary platform. This role is customer-facing — ideal for someone who is comfortable engaging with clients, understanding their mapping data, and ensuring seamless integration of GIS layers, ShapeFiles, and APIs into our systems. You will help customers connect, visualize, and synchronize their GIS data through API integrations, while also supporting them in troubleshooting, configuration, and map layer management. Key Responsibilities Work directly with customers to understand their GIS data structures, mapping needs, and integration requirements. Integrate external ArcGIS Esri maps and ShapeFiles into the company’s platform using APIs and connectors. Assist clients in setting up and maintaining API integrations, ensuring smooth data exchange between systems. Configure and manage GIS map layers, ensuring data is properly visualized and linked in the application. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for GIS integrations and data connectivity issues. Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to enhance API integration workflows and improve customer experience. Maintain clear documentation of integrations, processes, and customer-specific configurations. Educate and train clients on best practices for using the platform’s GIS integration features. Qualifications Required: Hands-on experience with ArcGIS (Pro, Online, or Enterprise) and QGIS . Knowledge of common GIS data formats such as ShapeFiles, GeoJSON, and WMS/WFS layers . Understanding of API concepts — REST APIs, endpoints, authentication, JSON, and data payloads. Strong grasp of spatial data principles : coordinate systems, projections, metadata, and topology. Excellent communication and customer-facing skills ; capable of explaining technical GIS workflows to non-technical users. Proven ability to work cross-functionally with clients, engineers, and product teams. Preferred: Experience integrating ArcGIS or Esri APIs into third-party applications. Familiarity with municipal, environmental, or infrastructure datasets (roads, parcels, zoning, utilities). Previous exposure to SaaS environments or enterprise software integration. Experience working with local government or public-sector clients . Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geomatics, Environmental Engineering, Computer Science , or related field. #J-18808-Ljbffr
