Job Overview A Data Protection Officer (DPO) is responsible for ensuring an organization complies with data privacy laws, particularly the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (DPA). The DPO acts as the organization's privacy expert, guiding them on data protection strategies and ensuring data is handled responsibly. The role involves monitoring compliance, conducting privacy impact assessments, and providing guidance to staff on data privacy matters. Job Description Render opinions and provide guidance on privacy issues. Devise and manage programs and initiatives to integrate privacy into work processes. Draft and enforce policies on data privacy and privacy in research. Investigate and prepare reports of security incidents and data breaches. Assist in corporate compliance and governance functions. Train and coordinate with stakeholders on data protection and compliance. Liaise with external entities, including the National Privacy Commission. Qualifications Excellent research and writing skills. Preferably, experience in drafting opinions. At least two (2) years of experience in a role that enforces data privacy. Can independently implement organization-wide programs, including liaising with units. Knowledge of the implementing rules and regulations of the Data Privacy Act and the National Privacy Commission’s issuances and advisory. Preferably, with training or certification on data protection or related fields. Work Set‑up Onsite and willing to work in BGC, Taguig City and E. Rodriguez, Quezon City.
