Overview As a Senior Economy Designer , you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and tuning the in-game economy systems that drive engagement, progression, and monetization across our mobile titles. You’ll take ownership from pre-launch economy design and simulation through to post-launch live ops balancing, working closely with product, data, and engineering to ensure the game economy supports both player satisfaction and business goals. You will report to the Lead Game Designer and collaborate cross-discipline to craft rewarding, sustainable economies that keep players coming back day after day. Responsibilities Design and own the game economy — currencies, sinks, sources, progression pacing, upgrade costs, rewards, and store systems — to ensure balance across the full player lifecycle. Model, simulate, and forecast economic outcomes using spreadsheets or data tools to validate design assumptions pre-launch. Collaborate with product managers to align economy and monetization design with retention and revenue KPIs. Define and tune live-ops systems, including event rewards, seasonal economies, and IAP offer cadences, based on player behavior and telemetry. Partner with analytics teams to review economic health metrics (retention, conversion, ARPDAU, inflation, engagement funnels) and translate insights into actionable design updates. Collaborate with UX and systems designers to ensure monetization mechanics feel integrated and fair. Champion fair-to-play monetization that maximizes long-term LTV through value-based pricing, progression pacing, and player trust. Mentor or review work from other designers contributing to economy or monetization systems. Qualifications 5+ years of professional experience in F2P game design, with a focus on economy and monetization systems for mobile titles. Proven ability to design and tune complex systems balancing retention, engagement, and revenue. Experience across both pre-launch balancing and post-launch live-ops optimization. Strong proficiency with Google Sheets/Excel for economic modeling and simulations. Deep understanding of F2P fundamentals — core loops, meta progression, monetization funnels, offer design, and player segmentation. Familiarity with Unity or similar engines for implementation and iteration. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-disciplinary teams (product, data, art, engineering). Self-driven and analytical, able to work independently and iterate quickly based on data and feedback. Bonus Skills Experience with player segmentation and monetization strategy, including building pricing ladders, purchase funnels, and segmentation logic Experience collaborating with data science/product teams to design experiments and interpret player cohort behavior.
