Job Title: Commodity Manager Location: Makati (Manila) or Cebu Summary Description

The Commodity Manager will be responsible for the strategic management of the supply base to ensure a continuous flow of materials supporting global manufacturing activities. The ideal candidate will have deep industry knowledge, market trends, cost curves, and internal/external requirements. The role involves collaborating with Engineering, Product Management, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations to develop sourcing strategies focused on cost optimization, supplier management, technology selection, and supply chain improvements. The Philippines-based Commodity Manager will oversee Electrical/Electronic categories across East Asia and support local suppliers, including mechanical items.

Essential Job Functions

• Manage the supply base through regular reviews, supplier performance monitoring, relationship management, root cause analysis, and improvement plans.
• Lead cross-functional teams to analyze spend, develop and implement spend management strategies, and proactively manage suppliers.
• Monitor market conditions, technology developments, supply chain capacity, and demand challenges, bridging trends to procurement levels.
• Guide the selection and management of strategic suppliers to meet cost and performance goals.
• Develop and execute spend management strategies including supplier assessments, negotiations, inventory management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Negotiate and finalize contracts with global suppliers to maximize benefits.
• Build a network and foster collaboration with stakeholders, suppliers, and team members.
• Coordinate sourcing strategies with New Product Introduction processes for smooth manufacturing ramp-up.
• Implement corporate and project initiatives to meet business objectives.
• Ensure successful execution of NCR Atleos service strategies.

Education and Experience

• BA/BS in Engineering, Materials Management, Business (Supply Chain), Operations, or related field.
• At least 5 years in commodity/supply chain management, including supplier evaluation, sourcing, and logistics.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Understanding legal and ethical purchasing practices.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and work collaboratively.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.

Additional Skills

• Familiarity with AI applications in supply chain.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and inventory reduction methods.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Knowledge of Electronic categories such as SSDs, Memory, Semiconductors, etc.
• Mandarin language skills are a plus.

Work Environment

Hybrid office/home setup with international travel possible. Extended hours during peak periods.

Key Competencies

Strong project management, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a matrix environment.
