Job Description

As a Head of Software Development, you will oversee engineering, data, and QA teams while ensuring alignment with strategic goals. You'll direct operations, enforce development standards, optimize resources, and deliver scalable, high-quality solutions—establishing global impact through leadership and innovation.

The Qualifications We Seek

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering , or a related field.
• At least 7 years of progressive experience in software development, with 5+ years in a leadership role managing multiple teams.
• Proven track record of delivering complex software solutions on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Technical Expertise

• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, system architecture, data engineering, and quality assurance practices.
• Hands-on knowledge of modern development frameworks, tools, and methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps, CI/CD) .
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, integration technologies, and enterprise-grade systems.

Leadership & Management Skills

• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing technical teams.
• Experience in hiring, training, and managing performance across diverse technical roles.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance technical depth with business priorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven experience working closely with Project Managers, Product Managers, Product/Solution Owners , and business stakeholders to align technology delivery with organizational goals and the direction of the Director for Global Technology Solutions.

• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
• Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and maintaining high standards of quality.
• Background in scaling technology functions within a rapidly growing organization.
• Experience with low-code platforms such as OutSystems.
• Exposure to emerging technologies such as AI/ML, data analytics, or cloud-native architectures.
• Relevant certifications such as PMP, CSM, SAFe Agilist, or equivalent Agile/Project Management credentials.

Your Daily Tasks

• Manage the Software Engineering, Data Engineering, and Quality Assurance teams, ensuring effective coordination and collaboration.
• Lead the hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of team members to build and maintain a high-performing workforce.
• Establish, implement, and enforce development methodologies, coding standards, and quality practices across all teams.
• Oversee execution of development activities to ensure solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Ensure sound technical decisions, alignment to architecture standards, and effective system design to support scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Monitor and manage team capacity, workload distribution, and resource utilization to optimize productivity.
• Identify and address technical risks and issues early, implementing mitigation strategies to minimize impact on delivery.
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Product Managers, Solution Owners, and other stakeholders to align development outputs with business requirements and the strategy of the Director for Global Technology Solutions.
• Drive improvements in tools, processes, and practices to enhance efficiency, quality, and delivery capability.
