Role description:

This role is part of Arcadis' Global Excellence Centre (GEC) and will join our 3,000+ talented individuals working in India, Romania, and Philippines, in partnership with Arcadis' offices globally. Role accountabilities:

Arcadis Global Excellence Centre (GEC) provides additional capacity for our Australian offices and supports the technical delivery of projects delivered through each of our regional offices. It also allows for development opportunities through international work experience.

  • Senior Engineer role within global design consultancy firm
  • Opportunity to work in Civil Structures team delivering transport projects into Australia
  • Based in Manila, Philippines

Your role will include:

  • Responsible for managing technical aspects of smaller and/or less complex tasks or components of largest tasks, meeting financial, quality, timeframe and health and safety objectives
  • Manage small teams of single (own) discipline of engineers and technicians
  • Operate as an experienced, competent professional on work (eg detailed engineering tasks involving design, calculation)
  • Maintain a theoretical approach to the application of technology in engineering practice
  • Work in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure integrity of the overall design
  • Undertake verification checking of elements of work
  • Have advanced proficiency with relevant desktop applications including the ability to use a range of computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems and presenting results
  • Demonstrate a knack for scripting and automation tolls, streamline and optimizing engineering workflows

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent and formally licensed to act as a professional engineer
  • Possess 5-10 years professional experience in relevant design industry (Transport/Mobility Projects) or similar design industry.
  • Strong civil structural design experience using Australian codes and standards Eg AS5100 or similar; Experience in TfNSW, VicRoads, MRWA, PTA and TMR will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience of working independently and the ability to work in a complex challenging environment
  • Demonstrated design experience on infrastructures projects such as bridges, roads, retaining walls, culverts, foundations and general structures.
  • Proficient in Design Software (eg Spacegass, ASBD, Midas)
  • Knowledgeable in Autocadd or similar (Revit, Microstation)
  • Great interpersonal skills (teamwork, supportive attitude, eargerness to learn, proactivity, assertive communication)
