Responsibilities:

This role plays a part in the evolution of the shopping experiences retailers offer and helps shape the future of retail. Toshiba provides services to retail clients worldwide by developing and delivering solutions such as point of sale (POS), customer loyalty solutions, self-checkout, and mobility.

The Software Developer must be proactive to work in a dynamic, collaborative and ever-changing environment. Responsibilities for this role include working with a cross-functional team while developing application software in an agile framework and supporting software test efforts. The position involves participation and contribution in all phases of application software development, from design inception through coding, delivery, and support.

The candidate will need to communicate at different technical levels, from the application architects to the testers. The software developer is part of a team responsible for developing the next-generation software solutions for the Retail Marketplace. This role requires working within an agile development team with minimal guidance. Responsibilities include working to develop the strategic next-generation omni-channel transaction solution for Toshiba. Many technologies are used including SaaS (Software as a Service), SOA (Service Oriented Architecture), MoM (Message Oriented Middleware), cloud computing, Enterprise, and Desktop Java Development.

The job requires an understanding of customer requirements and translating them into technical designs that meet the customer expectations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:-

Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, or a related field.5+ years of experience as a Software Developer AREAS OF EXPERTISE & SPECIAL SKILLS

The successful candidate will possess expertise in the following areas:

BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.5+ Years' of experience in full software development life cycle.3+ years of Object-oriented programming (Java required) 3+ years of Web Development experience3+ years in Agile development environmentStrong analytical and Java/OO programming skills (JDK8)Technical skills in web development technologies (Ajax, HTML5, JavaScript (ES6+), CSS, XML/JSON) including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object modelExperience with JavaScript frameworks (AngularJS, Angular, Typescript, React, or Vue). Experience with Vue is highly advantageous.Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack etc.Working knowledge in RESTful API Design & Development, Microservices ArchitectureWorking knowledge of Maven, Ant and GradleKnowledge of state management libraries such as VuexFamiliarity with modern front-end build pipelines and toolsRelational Database Experience (SQL)Working knowledge of Operating Systems (Linux Windriver, Windows 7/Windows 10)Strong programming and analytical skills, problem determination and debugging, attention to detail, teamwork and excellent communication skills.Knowledge of software development concepts/methodology/life cycle, especially agile methodologyRequirement to work with people internationally.Ability to communicate with people of various technical and business backgrounds, including the ability to explain difficult technical concepts in simple terms to business users to demonstrate the business value of Toshiba's offerings.Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control and testingExperience in analyzing, designing, implementing and troubleshooting software solutions for highly transactional systems. Strong communication skills and team player with a can-do attitude.Meeting and adhering to programming standards and practices throughout SDLC. Ability to design with other developers in mind so that other team members can develop-said designAbility to handle accelerating changes in pursuit of more innovative solutions Responsibilities:
  1. Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based, mobile or Internet-related computer programs. Code will be used in commercial applications in the Retail Software Solutions business. Using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications.
  2. Extend the automation / continuous integration platform, including tests. Perform Unit and Functional Tests of product features. Resolving Unit and Functional defects. Resolving customer or partner-reported issues and defects. Maintain, support and troubleshoot existing portfolio of applications.
  3. Authoring functional specifications and/or high-level designs. Documenting and presenting software design. Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. Creating product documentation for end-users.
  4. Providing a technical interface to key technology partners. Interacts with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications. Collaborate with other developers and quality assurance engineers to deliver high-quality products.
  5. Communicate status to Agile team and managers and identify project risks.
