Job Summary

As Platform Engineer, you will be focused on securing and maintaining the infrastructure supporting our VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) services. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our voice communication systems across a hybrid environment that includes Linux/UNIX, Microsoft servers, public cloud, and private cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities/Duties

VoIP Infrastructure Management:

Design, implement, and manage the underlying infrastructure for our VoIP services, including servers, network components, and cloud resources.Ensure high availability and scalability of VoIP platforms to meet growing demands.Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems to detect and resolve issues proactively. Security Operations (SecOps) for VoIP: Apply security best practices to VoIP infrastructure, including encryption, access controls, vulnerability management, and incident response.Monitor for and mitigate security threats specific to VoIP platform such as denial of service attacks and the likes.Conduct regular security audits and execute remediation/mitigations relative to security findings. Linux/UNIX and Microsoft Server Administration: Manage and maintain Linux/UNIX and Microsoft Windows Server environments that support VoIP applications and services.Apply system patches and updates to ensure the security and stability of the operating systems.Troubleshoot server-related issues and optimize server performance for VoIP workloads. Cloud Infrastructure Management: Leverage public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for VoIP service delivery, ensuring scalability, redundancy, and cost-efficiency.Manage private cloud environments that complement or extend the VoIP infrastructure.Implement cloud security controls to protect VoIP data and communications. Collaboration: Work closely with Service Delivery, Network Operation Center Engineers, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of VoIP services.Participate in incident response and provide technical support for VoIP platform-related issues. Internal: Pre-Sales, Service Delivery, Network Operation Center, and Cybersecurity team

External: Clients and vendors

Requirements:

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or systems engineering with a focus on VoIP or real-time communication systems.Proven expertise in Linux/UNIX and Microsoft Windows Server administration.Hands-on experience with VoIP protocols and technologies (SIP, RTP, WebRTC).Strong knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and private cloud technologies.Experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.) is a plus.Specific skills & abilities:Deep understanding of VoIP security best practices and common vulnerabilities.Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) for automation and troubleshooting.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a high-pressure environment.Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Personal qualities:CollaborativeProblem-solverResourceful
