Position Summary:


The primary focus of this role is to lead the design, development, and management of new and existing General Insurance products for both retail and commercial lines of business, aiming to optimize sustainable growth and profitability for the company.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage product development projects for new products, product revamp/ enhancements and quick wins to help achieve business targets.
  • Establish best practices and tools for product development, pricing processes, and performance monitoring.
  • Oversee the company's product portfolio to ensure that new business persistency and profit margin targets are met.
  • Support the Propositions Team in creating marketing and training materials and sales journey to ensure the accuracy and understanding of product details by the distribution channel and customers.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
  • Provide reports on market trends and competitors' movements on GI products to assist the Local Product Committee in product development strategy decisions.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and competitiveness of the GI product portfolio.
  • Oversees the development of product materials and liaises with the Insurance Commission for regulatory approval of the new products and enhancements.
  • Monitor sales reports and KPIs regularly to track achievements and analyze reasons for success/ failure, providing insights for future strategies.
  • Collaborate with Propositions, Underwriting, Pricing & Actuarial, Claims Teams, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and success across functions.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Business Studies, Marketing Management, Business Administration, Business or related fields.
  • 5 years of progressive work experience in the Non-Life Insurance Industry, demonstrating expertise in product development and/or project management.
  • Proven track record of successfully dealing with Agencies, Brokers, Bancassurance, Dealers, and other distribution channels.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Very good communication, presentation, and influencing skills to effectively convey ideas and strategies.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skill
  • Proficient stakeholder management skills to collaborate with internal and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams of professionals to achieve common goals.
  • In-depth understanding of Non-Life Insurance products and market dynamics.
  • Background in underwriting and/or actuarial related function is advantageous, but not required.
