Zendesk is looking for an Employee Relations Consultant for APAC. Who might be you? You are genuine. You listen to your customers. In this role, you will manage employee relations workflow for the APAC region basic client support and help us stay within compliance. Meanwhile, you'll continually look at ways to coach & mentor – and then put them into action You will also ensure employees and managers can easily understand, and abide by, company policies and practices.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Providing counseling services to employees and line managers on a variety of subjects, including but not limited to: performance management, conflict resolution, policy and procedure interpretation, and alignment with local employment law requirements;
  • Conducting investigations and resolving other sensitive employee relations issues across all levels of the company, in a timely manner and consistent with local requirements;
  • Independently managing assigned ER casework to completion;
  • Analyzing and identifying ER trends to proactively provide recommendations to the business to address and mitigate issues;
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the function in line with overall business objectives, and developing action plans in partnership with People Partners and/or other COE's to deliver on these;
  • Ensuring application of relevant company policies and procedures in a consistent and equitable manner;
  • Collaborating with other business partners (People Partners, Legal, etc.) as needed on case matters;
  • Analyzing data of ER cases, providing continuous education on relevant topics to managers and employees, and participation in ad-hoc HR projects;
  • Maintaining working knowledge of relevant labor and employment legislation and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance;
  • Continually looking to grow and improve the ER function for the organization.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills exemplified by great communication (written and oral) and a high EQ;
  • A great team player who knows how and when to collaborate to ensure success, and comfortable liaising with multiple levels of leadership, Legal, People Partners, and other stakeholders to get things done;
  • Ability to build and contribute to a positive, equitable, and transparent employee relations model;
  • Experience in conducting workplace investigations into highly sensitive ER issues and a proven ability in managing high risk;
  • Proven high level of knowledge across a broad range of employment law relating to case management and able to look up relevant legislation as needed.
Requirements:
  • BS/BA degree preferred, with at least 10 years' relevant employee relations experience in APAC, ideally focused employee relations, employment law, or HRBP/People Partner experiences;
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; comfortable with giving and receiving open, constructive feedback in a way that fosters trust and respect;
  • Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills. Accuracy is crucial;
  • Resourceful, self-motivated, and able to independently handle shifting workloads in a high-paced and constantly evolving environment. You know how to prioritize and deliver on opportunities;
  • Impeccable judgment and ability to balance the needs of the company, managers and employees;
  • Strong credibility and the ability to influence at all levels with excellent relationship management skills.
