The Opportunity

  • The role is responsible for providing operational general accounting and internal control support, completing of the major closing, reporting, and reconciliation activities, and ensuring the integrity of the general ledger account balances.
  • You will perform the review function and be a subject-matter expert on one or more processes (e.g. General Accounting and Reporting, Fixed Assets, Banking)
  • You will participate actively in implementing continuous improvement initiatives and projects organized by the company.

Job Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for providing timely, accurate, relevant & value-adding accounting & financial information to all relevant stakeholders, completing closing, reporting, and reconciliation activities, and ensuring the integrity of the general ledger account balances.
  • You will ensure financial processes & controls are in place throughout relevant business units and making sure that correct business practices are followed at all times.
  • You will focus on continuous process improvements and value-adding activities.
  • You will ensure accuracy of the general ledger - tasks include preparation of intermediate to complex manual journal entries, execution of closing tasks, and preparation and distribution of various periodic reports
  • You will prepare manual journal entries (requires intermediate to complex analysis and computation). Park/Post manual journal entries in ERP.
  • You will ensure that cost and revenue are booked in the correct period by performing financial analysis and that proper accounting procedures and standards are followed.
  • You will review manual journal entries prepared by other associates.
  • You will perform regular clearing of GL accounts
  • You will prepare periodic account reconciliations (complex and high-risk) based on the Policy's requirements
  • You will Investigate reconciling items and prepare appropriate action plans
  • Prepare and submit periodic financial and regulatory reports needed by the management for statutory reporting and decision-making
  • You will review account reconciliations prepared by other associates.
  • You will update the standard operating procedure (SOP) regularly or as the need arises and ensure that the details in the SOP are updated and accurate
  • You will provide accounting support to local business partners and other non-finance departments (e.g. HR, Sales and Marketing, Procurement) particularly those transactions with complex accounting concepts
  • You will communicate continuously with various stakeholders in business and respond promptly to management queries about actual results

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's/College Degree in Accountancy or any finance courses.
  • Four to six (4-6) years of experience in a Finance environment in a large corporate business
  • Experience in a Shared Service Center, BPO, Offshore Migration,
  • Has experience in SAP and ERP systems
  • Has good continuous improvement and project management skills
  • High level of proficiency in various computer applications including Intermediate Excel skills
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Amenable to work on Mid Shift and/or Night Shift
