Responsibilities:
Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs for construction sites.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and assess risks.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, codes, and standards.
Provide safety training and orientation to construction workers and subcontractors.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and implement corrective actions.
Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation.
Collaborate with project managers and site managers to address safety concerns.
Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks to promote awareness and best practices.
Monitor and enforce the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in construction safety.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, construction management, or related field.
Professional certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., CSP, CHST) preferred.
Proven experience as a safety manager or similar role in the construction industry.
Thorough knowledge of construction safety regulations, codes, and standards.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to conduct safety training and facilitate meetings effectively.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction safety management.
Demonstrated success in implementing safety programs and reducing incidents on construction sites.
Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
Familiarity with behavioral safety principles and safety culture improvement initiatives.
Track record of maintaining safety records and documentation in compliance with regulations.
