The role of the Technical Authority - Chemical/Process is an important part of enhancing process safety and increasing reliable operations for EDC.
This is a broad role that requires an in-depth understanding of all aspects of the engineering process including process safety and risk assessment. The Technical Authority shall be familiar with the engineering process from concept design, FEED, detailed design, commissioning, asset management.
While this is a technical role, communication, and coordination with stakeholders across EDC is crucial to the success of this role. Therefore, excellent communication skills are required.
At times there will be a requirement for complex technical recommendations to be made. The Technical Authority will be required to orchestrate the development of technical advice to the business so consistent and robust business decisions can be made.
Lead process safety initiatives within the Chemical/Process discipline
Identify, implement, and monitor key process safety controls, MFS - Minimum Functional Specification development. To ensure full asset life cycle is considered
Developing company standards and asset performance requirements
Oversight on technical issues and leading risk control recommendations
Upholding technical performance of assets. (Governance and
Assurance)
Guiding risk assessment and risk-based decisions consistently

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Chemical and Process Engineering.
Functional Safety Certification (TUV or Exida) (preferred).
10 years Heavy industrial, Chemical, Petrochem, Oil and Gas.
With 2-3 years experience in leading HAZOPS.
Process and Functional Safety experience.
Experience with management of change systems.
Familiarity with the engineering process from concept design, FEED, detailed design, commissioning, asset management.
