This position plays a critical role in overseeing and managing all aspects of construction projects within the organization. This position requires a combination of strong leadership skills, technical expertise in construction management, and the ability to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.

Primary Qualifications:

  • Licensed Philippine Architect (graduate of BS Architecture)
  • Has a strong understanding of construction principles, processes, techniques, and materials.
  • Proven professional experience of at least 10-18 years in the Construction Philippines industry.
  • Proven managerial leadership experience of at least 7 years (Middle Leadership); Has strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience in construction management (preferably took up Construction / Project Management for Masters), with a track record of successful project completion.
  • Proven business process management experience of at least 10-15 years of experience in business process management, process improvement, or related roles.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma is a plus.

Secondary Qualifications:

  • Proficient in construction software / understanding the use of these computer-aided applications.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in industry-related codes specific to the Philippines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Critical thinker with a keen eye for detail.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Project Management Department Manager is a key player in ensuring the successful execution of projects, contributing to the overall achievement and growth of the organizational objectives.

I. Project Planning and Coordination:

  • Develop and implement overall project plans, including timelines, defining project scope, developing a comprehensive project plan, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Focus more on the big picture, ensuring that the project aligns with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate with an internal group of architects and engineers under the Design and Construction Team, external consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure project specifications are clear and achievable.
  • Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment needed for the different aspects of the project.
  • Facilitating weekly operations meetings together with the Construction Department Manager and Design Team.

II. Team Leadership and Management:

  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of professionals, including divisions of the departments for the Project Management Department.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Provide guidance, support, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work. Communicate job expectations to subordinates.
  • Manage relationships with key operations vendors.
  • Communicate all issues and operating policies at important department meetings.
  • Stabilizing force during times when projects are kept afloat.

III. Budgeting and Cost Control:

  • Develop, organize, and manage the overall budget, ensuring financial goals are met.
  • Implement cost control measures to prevent budget overruns.
  • Proper and efficient allocation of resources.
  • Monitor and approve expenditures related to the overall project picture.
  • Work closely with the inventory manager and team to perform an analysis of the company's inventory and ensure we are utilizing our inventory effectively, purchasing the right equipment, and reducing sub-rental expenses.

IV. Quality Assurance and Safety Compliance:

  • Establish and enforce quality standards for all construction projects.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and implement best practices to maintain a safe working environment together with the Construction Department Manager.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address quality and safety issues.

V. Communication Management:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for the project, keeping all parties informed and involved in project progress and addressing any issues.
  • Collaborate with other internal departments, contractors, and external partners to ensure effective and smooth coordination and communication.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges associated with the overall project result.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Proactively address issues to minimize the impact on project timelines and budgets.

VII. Contract Negotiation and Management:

  • Participate in contract negotiations with consultants, vendors, main contractors, and other relevant parties.
  • Draft, manage enforce, and negotiate Project Management contractual agreements to protect the interests of the company.
  • Communicate with legal counsel and safety departments to ensure all processes remain compliant with government regulations.

VIII. Training and Development:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and emerging new methodologies related to project management.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the Project Management department.
  • Addressing employee performance and disciplinary or corrective action plans.

IX. Business Process Management:

  • Design and implement optimized business processes to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Examining existing processes, collecting data, conducting stakeholder interviews, planning, and implementing new processes, monitoring performance, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including process maps, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define objectives, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Implement performance measurement systems to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor process performance.
    • Can lead &direct the work of others.
