Electrical Estimating Manager (Switchboards)

Are you a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer with experience with both estimating and leading teams?

In this work-from-home permanent contract role for a fast-growing Australian company, you will be responsible for supporting and managing our Philippines based estimating team, to enable our sales team to focus on selling and closing deals.

As an Estimating Manager, you will play a crucial role in assisting us to continue to win an exciting range of switchboard design & construct projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) or similar degree; AND/OR
  • Trade qualifications (electrician) and experience in industrial control systems and/or switchboards

Required Attributes:

  • Minimum of three years' experience working with industrial control systems and switchboards, preferably in estimating
  • Minimum of three years' experience in leadership/management
  • Experience with Australian electrical standards is highly valued
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong command of the English language
  • Ability to work effectively with other estimators, salespeople, project managers and management
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly productive and disciplined approach to work
  • Access to high-quality IT equipment and fast internet (>10 Mbps)

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership, management and accountability of estimating team
  • Coordinate daily with team to manage expectations, workload and flow of work
  • Provide support/coaching to estimators as needed
  • Assist with estimating in busy times
  • Assist with reviewing of proposals for content and accuracy before submitting to customers
  • Coordinate the execution of large project quotes and review as required
  • Oversee development and updating of proprietary QuoteSys estimating system – new recipes, rules etc.
  • Coordinate with procurement to keep parts costings accurate and up to date
