The Trade Teams in G2 Ocean consists of the following three roles; Chartering, Operation and Business Controlling. The Trade Accountant is part of the Business Controlling role.

The Trade Accountant works in close coordination with the other members of the Trade Team under the direction of the Trade Coordinator.

G2 Ocean is a matrix organization, and the Trade Accountant's functional manager is a Trade Supervisor or professionally to theTrade Accounting Manager.

We are looking for applicants who have a good standard of degree preferably shipping related and/or accounting or minimum 5 years of experience in a numerical or accounting environment.

The job-holder will need to have a good level of numerical, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills. Personal strengths should include enthusiasm, reliability, flexibility and a team orientated approach. This position requires the job holder to maintain and update details of all voyage/trade related income. The job-holder will need to have a good eye for detail and competent IT skills. The job holder will also require good interpersonal skills as they will be involved at all levels of the organization as well as liaising with external Charterers, TC owners, Agents and other supplier. This position requires the job holder to maintain and update details of all voyage/trade related income.

Duties and responsibilities:

Work in compliance with agreed working practices in all relevant systems supporting the Voyage Execution process.

Ensure that all data is accurate, valid and complete in a timely manner throughout the Voyage Execution.

Issue Freight Invoice

  • Check if vessel has completed loading
  • Update information from B/L (transfer from OceanDocs if used)
  • Complete invoice assembles in Dataloy for Approval
  • Chase Approval if not received
  • Send invoice to the customer

Laytime

  • Complete invoice assembles in Dataloy for Approval
  • Chase Approval if not received
  • Send Invoice to Customer

Owners Expenses

  • Reconciliation/Follow up settlement including handling of disputes
  • Issue the invoice for offhire to the owner
  • Communicate with the finance team (accountants) for posting bunker consumption during off hire

Accounts Receivable

  • Follow up via email outstanding

Reporting as required
