  • Physical Stamina: Must be able to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Teamwork Skills: Must be able work effectively as part of a team; can communicate well with other kitchen staff and follow instructions from senior chefs.
  • Attention to Detail: Must be accurate in following recipes, portioning ingredients, and maintaining cleanliness is important to ensure the quality and consistency of dishes.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Preparation: will assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling and chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and preparing simple sauces or garnishes.
  • Assisting Senior Chefs: they work under the supervision of more experienced chefs, helping them with various tasks as needed, such as assembling ingredients, setting up stations, and organizing kitchen equipment.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance is responsible for keeping their work area clean and organized, as well as assisting with general kitchen cleaning tasks to ensure a sanitary and safe environment.
  • Following Procedures: must follow standardized recipes and procedures set by the head chef or sous chef to maintain consistency and quality in the dishes prepared.
  • Assisting with Inventory: will assist in inventory management tasks, such as receiving deliveries, rotating stock, and keeping track of ingredient levels.
  • Learning and Development: must be willing to learn and develop their culinary skills. They may receive on-the-job training from senior chefs and gradually take on more responsibility as they gain experience.
