What you will do:

Reporting to Project Director, the role shall be responsible for the development, management and delivery of design packages of the project. The position needs to articulate a vision for what the future of hospitality, casino, retail and lifestyle design looks like for various customer demographics, so that can meet the forefront of providing unique customer experiences.

This role will work closely with the corresponding Business Unit Heads and other critical stakeholders to ensure alignment of the various design packages to the overall vision for the project. The incumbent will lead the designated project design team members, including working with consultants in coordinating the design progress, involving the full design cycle from initial concepts, with a strong focus on master planning and then an overview role for the design development process into construction documentation.

  • Manage the design process through the various components of the future development, incorporating various lifestyle elements into the project to ensure that can be at the forefront of delivering leading customer experiences to the various customer segments that the project will cater to in the future.
  • Work with and manage key designers and consultants to develop master plans and helps with the development of the approved design concepts that best reflect the market, site and business model – ensuring alignment to the vision for the development as articulated by the Business Owner (& his relevant pre-ops teams) and other key stakeholders.
  • Works with other functional departments such as MEP, Commercial & Construction, to develop the scope of work documentation for the various consultants engaged on the project and assist to manage the execution of all ongoing agreements in coordination with project team members.
  • Together with the Commercial Support and the Design Support, develop the documentation for the formal RFP process to engage external consultants/vendors across various stages in the design and development process through to the build.
  • Work with design consultants and site team in leading value management exercises. Also ensure best & current practices are used and adhered to.
  • Manage and report on all aspects of the project through the teams to ensure projects are well managed and meet the owners brief, as well as market changes as agreed at the Steering Committee meetings.
  • Strong design portfolio of luxury hospitality projects. Skilled at innovative solutions and processes to achieve desired design solutions and to ensure targets are met and standard secured. Committed to award winning design excellence in support and desire to have a long-term strategic growth.

What we need:

  • Minimum 20 years integrated resort project experience as a design director or senior design manager or senior master planning architect. Solid experience in luxury premium hotel and gaming area would be a definite advantage.
  • Experience on clients side design development. Experience in Asia would be highly desirable especially within an integrated resort with high-end hotels
  • Diploma/Degree in Architecture or Interior Design
  • Demonstrable experience in the master planning of integrated resort destinations
  • Prior experience in casino design is a definite advantage, but not a must
  • Proficient in all design software & tool in production and review of design documentation
  • Must have led a multi-disciplinary design development team managing multiple projects & sections of work with external parties
  • Well-developed project management skills
  • Good working knowledge of international design rules, codes & local practices particular within Asia (Philippines)
  • Understanding & working successfully in a matrix organization will be highly advantageous
