The Senior IT Security Operations Analyst is is accountable for providing advanced security knowledge and technical expertise with the express goal of protecting Aurecon from security threats and is also responsible for setting standards to improve operating performance and continuous service improvement of the security processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth incident response investigations and diagnoses as part of the IT Security Team.
  • Analyse security events and alerts and investigate intrusion attempts, malware infections, etc.
  • Create and maintain security detection use cases to improve detection efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure appropriate processes are in place, followed, and that local personnel are adequately trained, to handle security incidents (including potential incidents).
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for security queries and security incidents, escalating security incidents to ensure they are appropriately dealt with.
  • Determine that updated anti-malware solutions are implemented on servers and workstations
  • Monitor significant changes in the exposure of information assets.
  • Reviews asset discovery and vulnerability scans of internet-facing services & application for exposures.
  • Conducts tests on production systems to validate resiliency and identify areas of weakness to fix.
  • Participate in continuous evaluation of security controls (technology or process) against the security threats.
  • Explores ways to identify stealthy threats that may have found their way inside the network, without detection, using the latest threat intelligence.
  • Leverages emerging threat intelligence to identify affected systems.
  • Ensure that all appropriate security controls are implemented and for all third-party suppliers, including conducting reviews and tracking findings.
  • Ensure IT security controls are embedded into processes.
  • Assess third parties and perform ongoing monitoring to determine that the third parties comply with contractual obligations and policies.
  • Assess security risks and provide sign-off including that of third-party vendors.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success leading a Security Operations team including: Reporting and Dashboarding, Information Security Incident Response, Auditing and Analysis and Data Security.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success working collaboratively and inspiring a team to deliver value and improve service.

Must Have:

  • 6 + years of experience in a similar level role within an IT Security team
  • Experience in network security systems (IDPS, SASE, etc.), Endpoint Detection & Response, SIEM/SOAR, IAM, Cloud Security, PKI Management
  • End to End - focusing on Technical Vulnerability Management (Discovery to Verification)

Nice to Have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • Qualification and experience with ISO 27001/2, ISO 27035, NIST CSF, etc.
