What will you do?

The core purpose of the Senior IT Project Manager role is to manage the end-to-end delivery of internal global technology projects within Aurecon. The role is responsible for mitigating delivery risk to the organization through ensuring that the solutions we implement meet expected business outcomes, are fit for purpose, future-proofed and are ready to be supported.

In this role, you will take ownership of the entire IT delivery lifecycle as a Delivery Owner / Scrum Master. You will lead and oversee a squad of up to 10 team members, ensuring successful execution of concurrent projects and work items.

This role will lead the Cyber Defense and Protection squad. This squad is tasked with delivering solutions and remediations to strengthen Aurecon's security posture

Here are the key things you will do to 'bring ideas to life'.

• Owning the entire IT delivery lifecycle, from project initiation to closure (including Agile delivery).
• Adherence to project delivery frameworks
• Manage gates/checkpoints
• Status reporting, Deliverables and sign-offs
• Defining project scope, timelines, budget, and success criteria
• Scrum of Scrums and Governance Forums as required (Steering Committee, etc.)
• Coordinate schedule creation with project team/collect key activities
• Accountability and Responsibility in the Ways of Working Evolution
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills with an ability to adapt to the needs of the team and stakeholders
• Strong narrative, context setting and story-telling ability
• Weekly Risk and Issue management
• Clear definition of scope, requirements, that is reviewed and signed-off as per delivery framework
• Management of scope change throughout project using change control process
• Estimates included in Business Problem Canvas.
• Actuals and estimates to be completed monthly
• Change variations raised for budgets with more than (± 5%) variation
• Defined project org. structure and roles and responsibilities (communicated to team)
• Effort estimations produced for all activities
• Actual effort and progress against schedule tracked throughout project
• Ensure Quality Criteria for project are define
• Complete Quality Checks throughout project to ensure solution meets required quality
• Change Impact Assessments completed and executed accordingly

What can you bring to the team?

You will also need the following:

• Bachelor or Master's degree in Information Technology, Business or related field
• Project Management Qualifications (Prince 2, PMBOK)
• 10+ years as a Project Manager or equivalent to Senior PM
• Mandatory: Experience working with key Cyber Security frameworks, including: NIST, Essential 8 and ISO 27001
• Cyber Security Domain Project experience – Technologies: Network End Point Protection, Server monitoring, Standards compliance, Network monitoring, Vulnerability management, Email security and management and SIEM ingestion (Sentinel)
• Toolsets including: ZIA, MS Defender Suite, SIEM (Sentinel) and Mimecast
• Advanced Project Management Methodologies: In-depth knowledge and ability to tailor them to project specifics, particularly Agile delivery.
• Experience leading Enterprise level rollouts / deployments or Projects.
• Strong commercial acumen – experienced in negotiating and driving project outcomes through preferred suppliers/partners
• Understanding of IT systems, how they relate and interact
• Mentoring & coaching project team members – experience uplifting capability and quality of delivery/championing project management disciplines
• Ability to lead dispersed and diverse technology teams to deliver continuous value for customers.
• Disciplined approach to planning, budgeting, execution, monitoring activities against plan and financial reconciliation
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and drive stakeholders to deliver on committed outcomes
• Proven ability to consult and facilitate discussions regarding alternative approaches and to broker consensus across stakeholder teams.
• Able to create effective team environments for people to innovate and learn.
