Job Summary:
Authorization Coordinators are responsible for all administrative aspects of outpatient diagnostic testing and procedure benefit verification and authorization. Authorization Coordinators ensure that Los Angeles Cancer Network meets patient’s insurance requirements for reimbursement before diagnostic testing or procedures.
 
 
Responsibilities:
The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time with reasonable accommodation.

• Meet or exceed daily goal of assigned requests
• Update productivity tracker daily
• Submit authorization requests and upload approved documents as specified below:

Urgent Requests
▪ Submit within 24 hours
▪ Upload in OncoEMR within 24 hours of receiving approvalRoutine Requests
▪ Submit within 5 business days
▪ Upload in OncoEMR within 24 hours of receiving approval

• Inbound Faxes Management
o Review and work daily incoming volume
• Conduct incoming/outgoing calls to patients and/or payers in a professional manner
• Reply to e-mail inquiries via OncoEMR and/or Outlook timely manner

Additional Requirements:
 

High school diploma or equivalent.Basic grammar and spelling skills.Basic typing, keyboard and computer skills and knowledge.Great Customer Service Skills.Medical TerminologyBasic computer knowledge.
