Our client is seeking a highly knowledgeable and dependable Director of Legal Counsel to oversee all legal matters within their Philippines location.

This role requires a strong leader with excellent legal expertise and a strategic mindset. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations, providing strategic legal guidance to support the company's business objectives, and managing relationships with external legal advisors and regulatory bodies.

    What you'll do:

    As the Director of Legal Counsel, your role will be pivotal in overseeing all legal matters within the organisation. You will be entrusted with providing strategic legal guidance to support business objectives, ensuring compliance with local laws, regulations, and company policies. Your ability to draft, review, and negotiate contracts will be crucial in this role. You will also manage litigation and dispute resolution matters as applicable. Your commitment to continuous learning will be evident as you conduct regular legal research to stay abreast of latest changes in law that may impact the company.

  • Provide legal advice and support to the company's senior management and board of directors
Develop and implement legal strategies to mitigate risks and support business goalsEnsure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policiesDraft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documentsManage litigation and dispute resolution matters as applicableDeveloping and implementing legal procedures and policies to ensure the company's compliance with applicable lawsConducting legal research to ensure the company is up to date with the latest legal changes, legal developments and industry trends that may impact the companyCollaborate with other departments to provide legal solutions and support for business initiativesManage relationships with external legal advisors and regulatory bodies

What you bring:

As an ideal candidate for the Director of Legal Counsel position, you bring a wealth of experience from your previous roles. You are licensed to practice law in the Philippines, have a minimum of 7+ years of experience in a senior legal role, and possess strong knowledge of Philippine legal and regulatory frameworks. Your excellent communication and people skills make you comfortable dealing with all levels of an organisation, including executive leadership. Your ability to provide practical legal solutions and business-oriented advice is highly valued.

Bachelor's degree in law (Juris Doctor or equivalent) from a recognized institutionLicensed to practice law in the PhilippinesMinimum of 7+ years of experience in a senior legal role, preferably in Financial| Insurance or Shared Services companyStrong knowledge of Philippine legal and regulatory frameworksProven experience in managing a legal team and managing complex legal mattersExcellent communication and people skills; comfortable dealing with all levels of our organization, including executive leadershipAbility to provide practical legal solutions and business-oriented adviceDemonstrated leadership and strategic thinking capabilities
