Primary Purpose:
The Construction Project Engineer
- Mechanical plans, designs, and oversees all mechanical works (HVAC, fire protection, plumbing/sanitary, and piping systems) across construction projects. This role bridges the gap between mechanical design engineering and on-site project management to ensure deliverables are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in strict compliance with technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with architects and multidisciplinary engineers to validate mechanical system plans, specifications, equipment layouts, and project schedules.
- Oversee on-site mechanical installations and testing/commissioning, ensuring strict compliance with local codes (e.g., PSME Code, Fire Code), safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Manage mechanical labor, materials, and specialized equipment on-site; monitor project expenses to ensure budget feasibility.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for mechanical concerns among clients, contractors, suppliers, and project management teams.
- Identify on-site mechanical conflicts, provide engineering solutions, resolve logistical bottlenecks, and prepare detailed status and progress reports. Education, Technical Capability & Career:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Registered/Licensed Mechanical Engineer (RME/BSME) is highly preferred.
- 1–3 years of solid experience in construction project engineering, mechanical site supervision, or MEP/HVAC design.
- Strong understanding of mechanical building systems (HVAC, Fire Protection, Plumbing, Piping) and construction processes.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and standard project management/scheduling software.
