Job Description:The Technical Director for Solar & Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects will be based on-site in the Philippines, providing technical leadership and oversight throughout the project lifecycle. The role focuses on project feasibility, design, development, construction, and operational support for cutting-edge renewable energy initiatives. The ideal candidate will drive technical solutions, ensure constructability, and manage EPC contracts, working closely with a dynamic team. This position suits individuals who are early in their leadership journey and keen to advance their career in solar and storage infrastructure.Responsibilities:
Lead technical feasibility, engineering design, and technical solutions for solar and BESS projects.
Oversee screening, development, construction, and operational phases of projects, with a particular focus on project development and construction.Ensure constructability of projects and drive engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) activities as a priority.Manage and drive EPC contracts, as well as oversight of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSA).Coordinate interdisciplinary teams, suppliers, and contractors to execute optimal technical solutions.Support and guide a younger project team, fostering growth, skill development, and innovation.
Required Skills and Experience:Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering (electrical, renewable energy, or related field preferred).
Proven experience in solar and BESS projects, with solid industry knowledge across development and construction phases.Demonstrated ability to drive EPC and contract management for energy projects.Strong leadership, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills.Ability to mentor and encourage junior staff, and work effectively with younger teams.Good communication skills for interfacing with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams.
