Key Responsibilities:

  • Driving and Delivery: Operate a vehicle (often a motorcycle or small truck) to deliver products to customers on a set route.
  • Sales and Promotion: Sell products, introduce new items, and upsell to existing customers.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing their needs and providing excellent service.
  • Inventory Management: Manage stock levels at customer locations, ensuring adequate product availability.
  • Order Taking and Payment Collection: Process orders, collect payments, and maintain accurate records.
  • Route Optimization: Plan and adjust routes to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance checks on the delivery vehicle.
  • Compliance: Adhere to traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Communication: Communicate with dispatch, customers, and sales management regarding deliveries, sales, and any issues.
  • Sales Targets: Meet or exceed sales targets as outlined by the company.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, sales, and other relevant information.

In essence, a Rider Salesman is a field sales representative who delivers products and actively sells and promotes them to customers, often in a specific geographic area or on a set route.
