Job Title: Systems Administrator (Mid-Level)

Location: Cebu, Philippines

Work Setup: Hybrid

Budget Range: PHP 50,000 – 60,000 (Monthly)

About the Role

We are seeking a Mid-Level Systems Administrator with strong experience in network firewalls and a solid understanding of security best practices. You will be responsible for maintaining and securing the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, and supporting network security initiatives. This hybrid role is based in Cebu and offers opportunities to work with advanced security and monitoring technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, configure, and maintain network firewalls and related security policies.
  • Monitor system and network activity to ensure stability, performance, and security.
  • Perform routine system administration tasks such as patching, updates, backups, and user access management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to servers, networks, and security systems.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining security measures across the IT environment.
  • Document configurations, procedures, and system changes.
  • Collaborate with IT, Security, and Infrastructure teams to support company operations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal security guidelines and standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Network Firewall administration (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, Sophos, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, VPNs, and security fundamentals.
  • Experience with Windows/Linux system administration.
  • Good troubleshooting, analysis, and incident response skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice to Have (Preferred Skills)

Experience or knowledge in the following is a strong advantage:

  • Whitelist Control / Allowlisting
  • Communication Capture Detection (packet capture, traffic monitoring tools)
  • Application Vulnerability Attack Understanding
  • DDoS Countermeasure Techniques
  • Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)
  • Real-Time Monitoring / Real-Time Threat Detection
  • Vulnerability Diagnosis / Vulnerability Assessment

Tools and technologies that may apply include Suricata, Snort, WAF, SIEM tools, Nmap, Nessus, Wireshark, etc.
