Maintenance Supervisor

Maintenance Supervisor:

The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the maintenance team, ensuring that all equipment, machinery, and facilities are properly maintained, safe, and operating efficiently. This role includes planning and scheduling maintenance activities, supervising staff, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance staff (technicians, mechanics, custodial, etc.).
• Plan, assign, and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Inspect equipment, systems, and facilities to identify and address issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
• Train and mentor maintenance staff; provide performance feedback and support professional development.
• Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and supplies; order replacements as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments to minimize downtime and support production/operations.
• Monitor maintenance logs, records, and reports to track efficiency and effectiveness.
• Assist in budget preparation and monitor maintenance costs.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns or urgent maintenance requests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training preferred).
• Proven experience as a maintenance technician, with supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of building systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of occupational safety standards and preventive maintenance practices.
• Proficiency with maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus.
