THE FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT

The Financial Accountant provides financial insights to support the profitability and growth of CN Lifestyle Inc. This role ensures accurate management reporting, analyzes profitability across stores, products, and promotions, and maintains balance sheet integrity. The position also leads budgeting and financial planning activities to guide the company in achieving both short-term and long-term retail performance goals.

Your Primary Responsibilities are:

  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports.
  • Develop executive dashboards and performance packs for senior management.
  • Conduct variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast) with commentary and recommendations.
  • Support department heads with financial insights for decision-making.

Expect to work on:

  • Conducting profitability analysis across stores, company-wide performance, products, and promotions.
  • Identifying revenue drivers, cost structures, and margin improvements.
  • Providing recommendations to optimize pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and cost efficiency.
  • Developing profitability models to support strategic initiatives.

You'll be hands-on with:

  • Preparing and maintaining accurate balance sheet schedules and reconciliations.
  • Analyzing working capital, liquidity ratios, and asset utilization.
  • Monitoring accounts receivable, accounts payable, accruals, and fixed assets.
  • Identifying risks, discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.

You'll play a part in:

  • Coordinating the annual budgeting process with department heads.
  • Consolidating and review departmental budgets for accuracy and alignment with company goals.
  • Tracking budget performance and highlight variances with corrective measures.
  • Supporting rolling forecasts and reforecasting activities.

You'll help us by:

  • Developing medium- and long-term financial plans aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Supporting management in scenario planning, cash flow projections, and investment decisions.
  • Providing financial simulations and sensitivity analysis for business initiatives.
  • Recommending actions to improve financial stability and growth.
