Reporting to the Head of Actuarial Services, MBPS, the Actuarial Senior Director will be a key member of the MBPS Actuarial Leadership team with responsibility for directing the activities of 25+ staff across multiple service areas, as well as their own technical accountability, both of which are expected to grow and evolve over time. The selected candidate will help to set the vision and lead department-wide initiatives, and will provide advisory support and guidance to team leads and junior staff. They must possess the ability to work with people at all levels of the organization and manage often conflicting stakeholder priorities.

Key AccountabilitiesPlay a key role as part of the MBPS Actuarial leadership team in achieving department projects and initiatives to drive process improvements and best practices. Provide guidance to staff at all levels on actuarial concepts, modelling principles, financial reporting processes, and technology. Build relationships and establish credibility with Actuarial management across all segments, particularly Business Unit Valuation Actuaries, their teams, Chief Actuaries, GFA, and RAS.Collaborate with segment actuaries to understand and prioritize the most important and time-sensitive needs of stakeholders.

Leadership and Team DevelopmentProvide strong, proactive leadership and coaching to a team of actuarial professionals. Allocate and monitor work to ensure accurate and timely completion within established timeframes and quality standards. Make decisions regarding employment, compensation, performance, training, and development.

Are Looking ForFellowship in a recognized international Actuarial professional body with 15+ years of experience. Post-secondary education in Math/Computer Science, Actuarial Science, or equivalent. Mastery of technical aspects across various functional areas; able to review data or results for reasonability and identify root causes.

Proficiency in Moody's Axis and Risk Integrity is an asset. Strong business acumen with the ability to communicate complex actuarial concepts clearly. Highly developed communication and relationship skills.

Remain calm and confident under pressure; demonstrate persistence. Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration, negotiation, and influence. Results-oriented, able to manage expectations and deadlines.
