Job Summary:

The Technician/Driver is responsible for the safe transport of personnel and materials, and the execution of broadband installation activities for Converge and Globe clients. The role involves field installation of internet lines and equipment, coordination with customers and barangays, and updating of job orders and documentation. The technician must be capable of working at heights, handling tools and cables, and operating independently or as part of a team under varying field conditions.

Responsibilities:

Installation Duties

  • Install subscriber lines, modems, and internet devices in residential or commercial locations.
  • Handle aerial cabling on utility poles and rooftops using proper tools and safety equipment.
  • Test and validate internet connections and service quality before turnover to the client.
  • Work as part of a team, often requiring at least two technicians per job for safe and efficient execution.

Driving and Vehicle Duties

  • Drive company service vehicle to and between installation sites.
  • Ensure vehicle is parked legally and securely—especially in high-risk or restricted areas (e.g., Manila barangays).
  • Remain with the vehicle if parking is not permitted or site requires it.
  • Maintain cleanliness and report any issues with the vehicle.

Support and Coordination

  • Secure barangay permits and coordinate with local officials as needed before installation.
  • Communicate with customers prior to and during installation to confirm schedules and location access.
  • Ensure timely arrival and smooth execution of installation appointments.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Update online Work Orders (WOs) and upload required documents (photos, customer confirmation, etc.).
  • Maintain installation logs and records of completed jobs for monitoring and audit purposes.
  • Report issues, rescheduling needs, or failed installs to supervisor immediately.

Customer and Program Support

  • Assist in upselling or promoting related products (e.g., OneTech) during installations when applicable.
  • Guide customers in scanning QR codes or availing of ongoing promotions.

Work Conditions:

  • Field-based; exposed to various weather conditions
  • Rotation of rest days (Sundays or Fridays)
  • Travel across cities including Mandaluyong, Pasay, Makati, Taguig, and Manila and other parts of metro manila
  • May require early starts or extended hours depending on site traffic and job complexity.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in field installations (internet/telecom preferred)
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Able to work at heights and handle physical field work
  • Basic knowledge of tools, safety protocols, and internet equipment setup
  • Strong coordination, documentation, and communication skills
  • Tech-savvy (able to update job orders on mobile or web platforms)
