Network Engineer Manager

Operations Management

• Responsible for the administration and management of the company's LAN and WAN infrastructure and ensuring the 24/7 operation of the network domain
• Responsible for designing the roadmap, directions and strategies for the network platform
• Responsible for ensuring that SLA commitments are met, including monitoring and reporting of the same
• Responsible for ensuring that projects and activities are managed and completed as per commitment
• Responsible for conducting regular network infrastructure review to assess gaps and recommends changes to support the present organizational needs
• Responsible for ensuring optimal performance and availability of all enterprise infrastructure meeting agreed service level commitments
• Responsible for planning for upgrades and new strategies designed to improve existing network infrastructure
• Responds to and addresses security incidents and IT security policy violations pertaining to the enterprise infrastructure.
• Responds to and addresses high-severity/priority issues and escalations immediately and provides guidance to subordinates till closure.

People Management

• Responsible for designing the career and skills development plan for the network team.
• Responsible for providing guidance to the team and ensuring that each member is aware of what he/she needs to deliver and the success measure of the deliverables.
• Responsible for ensuring that performance review is done for each network member.
• Responsible for ensuring that each network member complies to the guidelines, policies and standards set by the company
• Responsible for providing mentorship and feedback to the team; Recommend personal improvement plan as necessary
• Responsible in the resolution of any company-related concerns including compensation & benefits, performance, and the likes.

Subject Matter Expert

• Responsible for providing technical guidance to the network members
• Responsible for the research and development work to come up with solutions to address business requirements and bring out improvement initiatives
• Responsible for ensuring network design and solution provide optimum performance at a practical cost.
• Responsible for representing the network team in technical engagements with both internal and external entities
• Responsible for working with other SME's in designing, solutioning and even resolving network problems
• Responsible for the creation of technical standards and policies, and ensuring that the same is consistently implemented and monitored.

Customer Relation & Engagement

• Responsible for the relationship management with internal and external clients from a NOC resource perspective
• Responsible for staging regular meetings, communication and updates with customers concerning technical matters
• Represents the team as technical resource in regular technical review meetings and engagements with clients
• Responsible for ensuring that key deliverables with customers are followed through, tracked, updated and completed as per commitment
• Coordinates with client Network team on project requirement, planning and implementation/configuration and post-implementation acceptance testing

Implementation Leadership

• Responsible for taking the lead in the end-to-end process of project / activity implementation
• Responsible for organizing pre-implementation meetings to ensure that concerned teams are well aware of the scope
• Responsible for ensuring compliance to policy and standards, including change management

Troubleshooting

• Responsible for driving the team in the technical aspect of the troubleshooting and ensuring that troubleshooting protocols are followed and reports are validated and released as per SLA.
• Provides regular updates on the troubleshooting to the team, management and client.
• Ensures that incident report and RCA is released within SLA post the troubleshooting work and liaise with concerned groups for the resolution
• Extends troubleshooting assistance to the team as necessary.

Routine Activity

• Responsible for ensuring that the team's routine activities and deliverables are monitored, tracked and performed as per SLA.
• Ensures RCA/ICA document is reviewed, approved and released as per SLA.
• Monitors the team's incident/request/change tickets are attended and addressed as per SLA and regular turnover and infrastructure health check is performed and status report is published.
• Ensures that regular configuration and system backup is done and checked

Documentation

• Responsible for ensuring that documentations are regularly/timely reviewed, updated and ensures that accountable members perform their responsibilities diligently
• Ensures that documentation is regularly reviewed, updated and approved as per agreed compliance guidelines

Reporting

• Responsible for ensuring timely generation and submission of accurate reports to concerned groups and management

• Ensures the team performs proactive infrastructure performance, health, compliance and capacity review and gap analysis; Thoroughly review and approve action plans prior to recommending to management

InfoSec, Audit & Compliance

• Responsible for ensuring that the team understands and follows the information security guidelines and policies of the company
• Ensures the team's adherence to existing change management guidelines and policies and implement configuration changes as per approved hardening policies

Skills Development

• Responsible for designing training and skills development roadmap for the team and ensuring its implementation and compliance
• Ensures that in-house training (train the trainer type) and vendor-provided trainings are properly managed and utilized by the team
• Responsible for ensuring personal improvement by engaging in technical and soft-skills training, either internal and/or external
• Leveraging on technical interaction with SME's from 3rd-party partners and other resources e.g. publicly published technical resources from principals and industry authorized institutions

Other qualifications:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Computer Engineering (CoE), Electronics & Communications Engineering (ECE), Computer Science (CS), Information Technology (IT) or graduate of 4-5 years technology-related course
• At least 7-9 years' experience in administering, installing, configuring, supporting and designing mixed LAN/WAN environment, switches, routers, firewalls and related devices;
• At least 3-4 years in a managerial role in an IT environment with emphasis on network management
• Experience in the administration and design of Cisco VoIP, Telco Circuit Management (STM1, DS3, etc.) and related technologies
• Knowledge of TCPIP, LAN, WAN, Network Security, VoIP, Telco Circuit Management (STM1, DS3, etc.), NMS and Voice Platform is highly preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of Cisco LAN/WAN/Security products/solutions, Palo Alto Security products/solutions, WhatsUp Gold, Cisco IPS/ACS, Kiwi CatTools/Syslog, Network Sniffer, Bandwidth & Content Management, Cisco VoIP platform, Cisco WLAN and Link Load Balancer
• Complete understanding and working experience in ITIL and information security compliant/oriented environment
• Must be amenable to work onsite on a shifting midshift schedule
• Must be willing to work in Bridgetowne, QC
