Foreman (Fabrication)

Job Summary:

The Fabrication Foreman oversees and manages all fabrication activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality and safety standards. The role involves supervising fabrication workers, coordinating with project managers, and ensuring efficient use of materials, manpower, and equipment in alignment with client requirements and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervision & Coordination

• Lead and supervise the fabrication team (carpenters, welders, painters, helpers, etc.) in daily operations.
• Assign tasks and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Coordinate with Production/Project Managers to understand project requirements, drawings, and timelines.

2. Quality Control

• Ensure all outputs meet quality standards, project specifications, and client requirements.
• Inspect work in progress and completed work for accuracy, durability, and finish.
• Implement corrective measures when defects or delays are identified.

3. Resource & Material Management

• Oversee the proper use of tools, machines, and materials to minimize waste.
• Request and monitor the supply of raw materials, consumables, and equipment needed for projects.
• Assist in cost control by ensuring efficient use of resources.

4. Safety & Compliance

• Enforce workplace safety rules and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
• Conduct toolbox meetings and safety briefings for workers.
• Ensure proper maintenance of tools, machinery, and work areas.

5. People Management

• Train and guide workers to improve skills and efficiency.
• Resolve conflicts, motivate the team, and maintain discipline in accordance with company policies.
• Recommend manpower needs and evaluate team performance.

6. Reporting & Documentation

• Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and completion timelines.
• Assist in preparing reports for management review.
• Document work hours, material usage, and job site conditions.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Foreman or Supervisor in fabrication (events, carpentry, welding, signage, construction, or related industries).
• Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, materials (wood, metal, acrylic, etc.), and finishing techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with workplace safety regulations.
• Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
