SAFETY OFFICER

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development of Occupational, Health and Safety (OMS) policies and programs.
  • Advises and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.).
  • Conducts risk assessment and enforces preventative measures.
  • Reviews existing policies and measures and update them according to legislation.
  • Initiates and organizes OHS training of employees and executives.
  • Inspects premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (ex. not using protective equipment).
  • Oversees installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
  • Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
  • Records and investigates incidents to determine causes and handle worker's compensation claims.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering field.
  • Must have personal motorcycle.
  • With COSH & BOSH certificate.
  • In depth knowledge of legislation (e.g., OSHA/EPA) and safety procedures.
  • Minimum of two (2) year experience as Safety Officer. Preferably in construction industry.
  • Knowledgeable in MS Office.
  • Strong sense of time management and self-improvement.
  • Able to perform productively while under pressure.
  • Able to take prompt action to accomplish objectives and achieve goals beyond what is required.
