Senior Accountant (Full-Time, Remote)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring all accounts meet established standards. If you have strong analytical skills, are detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently, this is the perfect opportunity for you

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report and record daily cash banking transactions

  • Record non-automated banking transactions (e.g., COBRA payments, vendor rebates)

  • Post bi-weekly payroll and related entries for two companies

  • Reconcile fixed assets and post monthly depreciation

  • Reconcile leases and post all lease-related entries

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and update cash detail files

  • Record and reconcile petty cash expenses

  • Calculate self-funded insurance shortfall and related refunds

  • Update prepaid insurance and post amortization entries

  • Accrue payroll, earned credits, vendor rebates, and workers' compensation entries

  • Reconcile inventory, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet accounts

  • Assist FP&A with data updates in Sage, including price lists and contract changes

  • Conduct account reconciliations to maintain accuracy

Requirements:

  • Proven accounting experience with strong financial record management skills

  • Knowledge of the general ledger and payroll accounting

  • Experience with bank reconciliations, fixed assets, leases, and accruals

  • Familiarity with insurance accounting and vendor rebates

  • Proficient in accounting software (Sage experience is a plus)

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field preferred

  • CPA certification/license is required
