Role Overview

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and maintaining compliance with the resort's internal controls and regulatory standards. This role works closely with the Finance Manager to support the preparation of financial statements, supervise general accounting functions, and monitor team performance. The position plays a critical role in delivering timely and accurate financial reporting to support operational decision-making and budgetary planning.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial operations and reporting

· Supervise day-to-day accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and revenue auditing.

· Review journal entries and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and proper classification of financial data.

· Support the Finance Manager in month-end and year-end closing processes and financial statement preparation.

· Assist in preparing financial and operational reports for management, ownership, and external auditors.

2. Compliance and internal controls

· Ensure adherence to the resort's financial policies, accounting principles, and statutory requirements.

· Monitor and enforce compliance with BIR regulations, local government mandates, and audit guidelines.

· Maintain strong internal controls to prevent fraud, errors, and financial misstatements.

3. Team supervision and collaboration

· Supervise, train, and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance on best practices and performance improvement.

· Coordinate with key departments (e.g., Front Office, F&B, Purchasing) to validate financial transactions and resolve discrepancies.

· Actively collaborate with the Finance Manager on budgeting, forecasting, and cost control strategies.

4. Systems and process enhancement

· Recommend and implement improvements in accounting processes, systems, and reporting tools.

· Support the integration and maintenance of financial software or hotel management systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.

• CPA license is an advantage but not required.

• At least 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably within the hospitality or hotel/resort industry.

• Experience supervising an accounting team or leading finance projects is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of Philippine Taxation and BIR compliance.

• Proficiency in financial software systems (e.g., SAP, Hermes, QuickBooks, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.

Working conditions:

• Based in Boracay Island, with regular coordination with Manila-based support and external auditors.

• May require extended hours during month-end and year-end closing periods.
