Your Role

As an AU Junior Estimator, you are responsible for:

Estimate Take-Offs

  • Prepare accurate take-offs for the Senior Estimator.
  • Ensure all required materials and components are included.

Scope of Works Review

  • Review and interpret scope of works to align estimates with project requirements.
  • Identify and clarify discrepancies before finalizing quotes.
  • Communicate scope requirements to estimating and project teams.

Material and Purchase Orders

  • Generate accurate purchase orders for specific jobs.
  • Ensure site teams receive required materials on time.

Register Management

  • Maintain lead and quote registers, tracking progress, conversions, and deadlines.
  • Organize new quote folders with updated plans and supplier quotes for easy access.

Variations (once trained)

  • Log and process variations from documentation or builder requests.
  • Ensure deadlines are met and minimize onsite delays through accurate processing.

Live Job Support (once trained)

  • Complete take-offs and quotes for roof plumbing (metal roofing and cladding) jobs.
  • Issue purchase orders to support scheduled work.
  • Monitor and report potential cost overruns.
  • Prepare cost wash-up reports upon job completion.

Required Skills & Attributes

  • Ability to read and interpret plans.
  • Strong attention to detail with plans, numbers, and scope of works.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to create and maintain reports, templates, and documentation.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and deadline-driven.
  • Interest in estimating as a career and in computer-based work.
  • Experience with Tradify or HouzzPro (preferred but not essential).

Key Deliverables

  • Accurate take-offs provided to the Senior Estimator.
  • Scope of works validated prior to estimates.
  • Materials P&L aligned with estimates in HouzzPro.
  • Reduced material ordering time for site teams through accurate purchase orders.
