Job Description

As a Jr. Processor, you will be responsible for managing the loan pipeline, verifying documentation, ensuring compliance with underwriting requirements, and coordinating with brokers and internal teams to deliver a smooth and timely loan closing experience.

The Qualifications We Seek

• 1-2 years of experience in U.S. mortgage processing, with expertise in order-outs (including ordering flood certificates, credit reports, appraisals, tax returns, and HOA documents)
• Completed advanced skill-building and mentoring from Orion Lending underwriters
• Proficiency in hazard insurance, flood insurance, and Closing Protection Letters (CPL)
• Experience handling inquiry letters and reviewing Initial 1003 and HUD addendum conditions
• Ability to implement program and rate changes in preparation for underwriting
• Expertise in compliance regulations, including RESPA, MDIA, Reg Z, and GFE

Skills & Knowledge:

• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Solid understanding of residential mortgage loan terminology, credit processes, and documentation
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively to meet service standards
• Functional knowledge of Encompass software
• Commitment to delivering industry-leading service to broker partners and account executives

Your Daily Tasks

• Act as a liaison between brokers, underwriters, appraisal reviewers, account executives, and funders to ensure prompt and efficient service
• Manage the assigned loan pipeline, ensuring timely processing and adherence to company lending and service standards
• Ensure all underwriting requirements and conditions are met before finalizing loan-closing documents
• Apply appropriate procedures to pipeline loans that are canceled or denied
• Oversee each assigned loan application from initiation to closing
• Communicate with brokers to provide real-time loan status updates
• Confirm loan rates and fees, ensuring accurate data entry in the loan origination system for documentation preparation
• Request and verify loan documentation to satisfy underwriting conditions
• Stay up to date on company policies and ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements
• Coordinate the delivery of loan closing documents to designated closing agents or title companies
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with brokers, underwriters, funders, and assigned account executives
• Accurately price loans based on the company rate sheet and submit them via the loan origination system
