Email Marketing Specialist

The purpose of this role is to manage the teams responsible for creating and executing email/SMS/mobile push services. This role is inclusive of managing resources, technologies and scope. This role is a subject matter expert on digital messaging technologies.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develops complex and customised HTML email/SMS/mobile push code that adheres to industry best practices and brand guidelines and closely matches the original creative design. Additional code-related responsibilities include:
  • Performing quality checks
  • Scripting for dynamic content, personalisation and segmentation
  • Managing HTML content and related assets within clients' email/SMS/mobile push platforms
  • Contributes to new business development and RFP responses, as needed
  • Collaborates with other internal team leads—who aren't always technical—to handle escalations and problems that arise
  • Writes technical documentation and establish process, as needed
  • Keeps up with industry standards, innovations and new best practices in email/SMS/mobile push marketing and provides thought leadership and training as-appropriate in relation to those industry developments
  • Maintains basic knowledge of data as it relates to HTML code, to aid in troubleshooting critical list errors
  • Supports Lead Developers and other internal team leaders to manage escalations and resolve issues
  • Ensures quality of work and accuracy, addressing, modifying and rolling out SOP and QA procedures to mitigate risks over time
  • Acts as a point of escalation for senior email/SMS/mobile push developers on the team
