Forklift Operator – Job Description

Position Overview:

A Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, load, unload, and organize materials within warehouses, storage yards, or project sites. The operator ensures efficient workflow, proper stacking, and compliance with safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Load, unload, and transport materials to designated areas.
  • Inspect materials for damage and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Conduct daily inspection and basic maintenance of the forklift (fuel, oil, tires, etc.).
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse or storage area.
  • Follow proper stacking and storage procedures to avoid damage or accidents.
  • Assist in inventory counts and documentation of material movement.
  • Adhere to company safety policies, workplace regulations, and equipment protocols.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff, logistics personnel, and site supervisors.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • At least High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a forklift operator or similar role.
  • Valid forklift operator certification/license (required or as mandated by company).
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and material-handling procedures.
  • Ability to lift heavy items and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to safety and detail.

Job Type: Full-time
