DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

People Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of data analysts, engineers, and other professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
  • Develop and implement strategies for team building, motivation, and professional growth.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with HR on talent acquisition, onboarding, and training programs.

Developing and Retaining Talent:

  • Identify and nurture individual strengths within the team.
  • Create personalized development plans for team members to enhance their skills.
  • Implement retention strategies to ensure the long-term commitment of key talents.
  • Encourage continuous learning and provide opportunities for skill enhancement.
  • Address challenges proactively and create a supportive work environment.

Data Warehousing:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of data warehouses.
  • Ensure the effective organization and storage of structured and unstructured data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data warehouse requirements.

ETL (Extract, Transform, Load):

  • Manage end-to-end ETL processes to ensure seamless data integration.
  • Optimize ETL workflows for efficiency, scalability, and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve ETL-related issues in a timely manner.

Data Engineering:

  • Drive data engineering initiatives to support business objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.

Agile Methodology:

  • Apply Agile principles and practices to enhance team productivity.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Promote a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to prioritize and deliver value in iterations.

Cloud Experience:

  • Utilize cloud-based platforms for data storage, processing, and analysis.
  • Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with relevant cloud data management standards.

Collaboration Skills:

  • Cultivate effective cross-functional collaboration with other departments.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
  • Facilitate communication and knowledge-sharing among team members.
  • Promote a culture of openness, transparency, and mutual support.

Matrix Organization Experience:

  • Navigate and thrive in a matrix organizational structure.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments and teams to achieve common goals.
  • Effectively manage and prioritize tasks within a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in people leadership, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Substantial experience in data warehousing, ETL, and data engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based data technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
