Job Purpose

Develops designs in keeping with the brand's overall direction and business strategy.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Design and Trend Research:

  • Handle material sourcing, development and review (lab dips, strike offs) in collaboration

with his/her superiors.

  • Prepares product specification sheets to provide detailed product guidelines and

specification as basis during the course of production.

  • Develop designs that are consistent with the image, market and pricing strategies of the

brand and in accordance with given guidelines in terms of concept and color direction.

  • Prepare and update all CAD requirements and specification sheets.

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of technical instructions and other details prior to specs

upload.

  • Develop designs that are consistent with the image, market and pricing strategies of the

brand and in accordance with given guidelines in terms of concept and color direction.

  • Has good technical understanding of the assigned product category.

  • Review and validate work sheets/ specs sheets prior to submission to the Product

Development Team

  • Oversee during fit/sample evaluation sessions as required.

  • Assist the Design Manager in the performance of his/her duties particularly in color &

concept development

  • Perform other functions as required (i.e. brochures, uniforms, look books, assist during

pictorials & fashion shows, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • Garment Technology: basic fiber and textile properties; basic garment construction and patterns; fashion illustration and design

  • Merchandising: able to interpret and understand the merchandise cycle, the merchandise and retail industry

  • Brand: ensuring that merchandise fits to the brand image and caters to the target market

  • Design Principles: using color combination design elements and the execution of design using various media
