STRATEGIC VALUE AND JUSTIFICATION:

Designs the data platform to handle all data needs, aligning with the overall enterprise architecture. This role is crucial for assessing internal and third-party data solutions to support future business goals.

A Data Architect is responsible for designing and managing data systems to ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility across an organization.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Design Data Models: Develops and optimizes database models to store and retrieve company information efficiently; evaluates potential data platform solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks).

  2. Data Management: Ensures data integrity and security by implementing data governance standards and procedures; assesses current data sources, quality, and infrastructure.

  3. Collaboration: Works closely with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to identify data needs and develop solutions; collaborates with Solution Architect on data migration strategies

  4. System Requirements Analysis: Analyzes system requirements and designs data architecture that meets organizational needs.

  5. Data Migration: Oversees the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to operations; assesses current data sources, quality, and infrastructure.

  6. Performance Monitoring: Regularly tests and troubleshoots database systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

  7. Documentation: Prepares accurate reports on database design and architecture for management and executive teams; creates a detailed data blueprint.

  8. Collaborates with Solution Architects on data migration strategies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus.

  2. Experience in evaluating data platforms and internal capabilities.

  3. Expertise in data modeling, collection, storage, and access.

  4. Proficient in databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.
