Reporting to the Project Manager, the Operations Superintendent is the head of the operations department and is responsible for overseeing all quarrying operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Manage all quarrying/mining activities to meet Client's Production requirements in a safe and cost-effective manner.

  2. Accountable and responsible for the implementation of the safety, health and environment company policies.

  3. Coordinate with the client's representative on the work plans, schedules, and other special instructions affecting the operations.

  4. Responsible for all operations personnel's performance and conduct within the company premises.

  5. Coordinates with the Maintenance Superintendent to discuss equipment concerns.

  6. Ensure that the Company Code of Discipline is properly implemented within the operations department.

  7. Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Licensed Engineer, preferably a Mining Engineer, with at least 2 years of experience in open-pit mining/quarrying; or a college graduate with at least 5 years of experience on supervisory position in the same industry; or college undergraduate with at least 8 years of supervisory position in the same industry.

  2. Demonstrates high level of leadership skills and the ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient under pressure.

  3. Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  4. Able to deliver effective results, meet target KPIs and production in a timely manner.

  5. Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
