Associate Security Engineer

Position Overview

Sekuro is seeking a motivated Graduate or Associate Engineer to join our Managed Security Services (MSS) team in Asia. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to develop their career in cyber security whilst working alongside experienced security practitioners. In this role, you will support the delivery of managed security services to clients across the Asia-Pacific region, gaining hands-on experience with enterprise security technologies and contributing to the protection of corporate enterprises globally. Responsibilities

As a Graduate or Associate Engineer within Sekuro's MSS Asia team, you will support the delivery and maintenance of managed security services for our clients across the region.

• Assist in the monitoring, configuration, and maintenance of security platforms including cloud security solutions, network security devices, and endpoint protection systems under the guidance of senior team members.

• Support the deployment and configuration of security technologies across client environments, including Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions, cloud platforms, and network security infrastructure.

• Participate in security monitoring activities, including the analysis of security alerts and events to identify potential threats and security incidents affecting client environments.

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation, including standard operating procedures, configuration guides, security runbooks, and client-facing reports, ensuring accuracy and clarity.

• Assist with security assessments and configuration reviews to identify potential vulnerabilities and areas for improvement in client security postures.

• Collaborate with senior engineers and the broader security operations team to respond to security incidents, providing technical support and contributing to incident resolution activities.

• Participate in client communications under supervision, developing the ability to explain technical security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Engage in continuous professional development by staying current with emerging security technologies, threat landscapes, and industry best practices relevant to managed security services.

• Support capacity planning and performance monitoring activities for managed security platforms to ensure service level agreements are consistently met.

• Assist in the implementation of security policies, access controls, and security configurations across multiple client environments in accordance with established standards and frameworks.

Desirable Experience and Skills:

• A Bachelor's degree with Honours in Computing, Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Networking, or a related discipline is required for this position.

• Foundational knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls, and network security principles.

• Understanding of cloud computing platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform, including basic cloud security concepts.

• Basic knowledge of information security principles, security frameworks, and common cyber security threats and vulnerabilities.

• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply technical knowledge to solve practical problems.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and the ability to work methodically through technical challenges.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document technical procedures and communicate effectively with team members.

Desirable Experience and Skills:

• Previous experience in a Managed Security Services environment or security operations centre, whether through internships, graduate programs, or early-career roles, would be highly valued.

• Hands-on experience or demonstrated knowledge of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) platforms such as Zscaler or Netskope.

• Familiarity with Microsoft security solutions including Microsoft Defender suite (Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud, Defender for Office 365) and Microsoft Sentinel.

• Experience with cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS), particularly in relation to security services and configurations.

• Knowledge of Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including configuration, policy management, and security features.

• Understanding of Cisco routing and switching technologies, including configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco network devices.

• Exposure to security information and event management (SIEM) platforms, particularly Microsoft Sentinel, including log analysis and security event correlation.

• Relevant industry certifications or demonstrated commitment to professional development through pursuit of certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Security certifications, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, or vendor-specific certifications.

• Scripting or automation experience using languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for security automation tasks.
