Job Summary:
The Corporate Legal & Compliance Associate OIC-it will assist in managing the company's legal, policy, and compliance-related functions while supporting recruitment and HR processes. This position is designed for Law, Legal Management, or Political Science students or graduates who wish to gain hands-on experience in corporate legal affairs, policy drafting, and employment compliance.
The role involves ensuring that all company operations, contracts, and employee relations adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and internal standards. The associate will also support recruitment, conduct verification processes, and contribute to building a transparent and legally compliant organizational structure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance by drafting, reviewing, and updating company policies, contracts, service terms, and employee handbooks in accordance with labor laws, data privacy, and government standards.
- Oversee recruitment and onboarding - from screening and initial interviews to conducting character reference calls, verifying applicant credentials, preparing job offers, and facilitating orientation in compliance with company and labor requirements.
- Manage HR records and documentation, ensuring accurate and confidential maintenance of employee files, contracts, clearances, and performance-related documents.
- Conduct regular compliance and background checks for both new and existing employees or contractors, reporting findings to management for appropriate action.
- Assist in legal correspondence and research, including the preparation of memos, policy updates, and formal communications related to company operations or regulatory matters.
- Coordinate with management and relevant agencies (DOLE, BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG) to ensure timely submission and compliance with statutory obligations.
- Support policy implementation and enforcement, ensuring all employees understand and adhere to company rules, code of conduct, and standard operating procedures.
- Provide administrative and operational support, maintaining organized digital and physical filing systems, facilitating internal communications, and assisting in process improvement initiatives to streamline HR and compliance workflows.
- Collaborate with management on strategic initiatives, helping develop legally sound frameworks for recruitment, employee relations, and overall business governance.
Qualifications:
- Open to Law Students, Legal Management graduates, or Political Science students seeking practical experience in corporate law and compliance.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the Philippine Labor Code, data privacy regulations, and corporate compliance processes.
- Strong communication and writing skills in both English and Filipino.
- Excellent research, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Discreet, trustworthy, and able to handle sensitive information professionally.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools.
- Able to multitask, prioritize effectively, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to adapt and learn within a dynamic corporate environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php Php700.00 per day
