The IT Network Engineer will be responsible for the build, maintenance, and incident resolution of our rapidly expanding network infrastructure. You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency and impressive work ethic to deliver mission critical infrastructure, while ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, and security.

The primary responsibility of this person is to support the network infrastructure, build resilient architecture and troubleshoot issues in coordination with application partners and vendors. Candidate will also be able to demonstrate hands-on capabilities of routers, switches, firewalls configuration and troubleshooting using native and third-party tools.

Responsibilities:

• Administration of Cisco high end switches 9500, 9200, Meraki 425/250 and Fortinet 600F firewalls. Responsible for configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of hardware IOS, security policy, and ongoing upgrades.
• Configure site-to-site VPN, routing protocols, VLANS, QoS to ensure secure, optimized performance for all routed protocols.
• Troubleshoot issues as needed from the physical layer through the software tier.
• Manage network infrastructure monitoring tools such as PRTG and optimize the threshold to generate pro-active alerts
• Build and support cloud infrastructure services, like IAM, ALB, VPC, VPN, Security group, Transit Gateway, EC2, EBS, RDS, using Terraform or similar IaaC tool.
• Facilitate projects and requests made by the business teams in the cloud infrastructure using AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• Setup cloud watch alarms and to alert the system outages and implement auto curing methodologies to maintain zero downtime.
• Optimize the system performance, scale up/down using Auto scaling and load balancing services.
• Ensure AWS infrastructure is secured using KMS, WAF, Guard Duty, and in compliance to corporate security policy.
• Enable auditing services like CloudTrail on AWS and perform HIPAA, SOC2 audit on all AWS services.
• Document and review Operating Procedure Document, and update IaaC in a hybrid cloud infrastructure model.
• Perform periodic maintenance like IOS patching, configuration backup, and vulnerability scanning.
• Materially contribute to multiple concurrent projects with various development and product groups.
• Clearly document the design, maintenance, and support procedures for routine tasks to leverage IT Support Staff
• Provide support for mission-critical systems to ensure smooth business operations and act as an escalation point for Support Technician staff
• Research and evaluate new technologies to improve existing infrastructure.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation and off-hours maintenance windows.
• Assist in maintaining, documenting, and improving upon Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans
• Support application and environmental issues in the network with appropriate system logs.
• Contribute to long term design strategy and roadmap, server architecture, establishment of engineering standards and best practice guides
• Configure and review IDS/IPS logs to highlight potential attack on the perimeter systems.
• Ensure high availability by performing "KTLO" Keep The Lights ON" activities periodically.
• Comply with HIPAA and HITech Privacy and Security regulations associated with Electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in related field, equivalent work experience
• Minimum 8 years of experience in network, firewalls, LAN/WAN technologies.
• Hands-on experience in datacenter and corporate office network with the ability to dive into system logs and the CLI interfaces to pro-actively optimize and troubleshoot. Should be able to demonstrate the ability to optimize the routing protocols.
• Minimum 2 years of cloud experience as solution architect, DevOps engineer is must.
• Experience in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco Switches, Meraki devices, Fortinet Firewalls and Access Points.
• Experience with cloud native DNS, Load Balancer, web filtering, Data Loss Prevention.
• Experience in AWS cloud infrastructure services, Azure AD, MS365 product suite - Exchange, Intune, MS Defender, MSDATP.
• Experience in IaaC - Terraform, Cloud Formation.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and weekends as needed
• Participate in 24/7 on-call responsibilities
• Industry certification(s) such as CCNA, CCNP, and Firewall vendor certifications.
• Exceptional Customer Service and communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to effectively and efficiently present technical information
• Strong analytical, logical thinking and problem-solving skills

Skills:

• Strong experience of Cisco high end switches 9500, 9200, Meraki 425/250 and Fortinet 600F firewalls.
• Expert knowledge of LAN/WAN protocols with hands-on experience in configuring and troubleshooting.
• Significant experience with network monitoring, performance and capacity management tools (PRTG/Solarwinds NPM, SAM) preferred.
• Significant experience implementing and troubleshooting Site-to-Site VPN, IDS/IPS and Web filtering policy.
• Experience in managing cloud native Load Balancer - Akamai, Cloudflare, AWS Route53.
• Knowledge in AWS cloud infrastructure services, Azure AD, MS365 product suite - Exchange, Intune, MS Defender, MSDATP.
• Knowledge of network automation tools or scripting is added advantage.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues using Wireshark, tcpdump, pcap, and other application performance analysis tools.
• Experience in security tools SIEM – Splunk, Solarwinds SEM, Azure Sentinel.
• Must work well with a geographically disperse team. Seeking collaborative team players willing to both learn from as well as train others as the situation dictates.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 suite is a plus
