Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the IE Head/Manager, the Industrial Engineer is responsible for setting-up the standards for assembly time, material usage, manpower allocation, ergonomics standards, machine capacity including conversion loss and material throw-rate with the end view of optimizing the utilization of production resources. The Industrial Engineer also coordinates with the Engineering regarding the process improvements.
Sets standard time for assembly and check the actual performance against the set standards.
Conduct time study to check the shot time/cycle time of the process and compare it with the set standards.
Analyzes existing process design/set-up.
Recommends appropriate machine, process design and manpower allocation to achieve optimum quality and productivity.
Provides layout for the company for maximum utilization of space, synchronous flow of materials and minimum travel time and handling.
