Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist - Microbiology

This Quality Assurance Specialist – Microbiology is responsible for assuring that microbiological evaluation and related laboratory activities are executed and implemented in accordance to the policies and procedure as defined in Coca-Cola Operating Requirements (KORE), Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines Inc.'s Integrated Management System (CCBPI's IMS). The microbiology may also act as the Deputy Food Safety Team Leader of the facility.

Responsibilities Would Include:

  • Conducts laboratory activities involving applicable microbiological and sensory evaluation of incoming ingredients, water, syrup, and product as well as wastewater samples in accordance to Company procedures.
  • Sampling and microbiological analyses of incoming ingredients' e.g. CO2, sugar, beverage base/concentrate, syrup (simple & flavored), water, fullgoods, auxiliary materials, processing aids and environmental samples.
  • Ensures that changes are captured in the Change Management Program
  • Ensures that laboratory equipment and enablers are calibrated and are within servicing schedule to ensure reliability
  • Ensures that hygiene services are effective and within schedule.

Maintains inventory of hygiene equipment and enablers are within acceptable level and can support the operation
- Attends to audits and make available records and information to demonstrate compliance
- Provides inputs to RCA, CAP and other Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
- Support implementation of Company strategies and initiatives anchored to Its Values.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable environmental standards and practices waste elimination and minimization to promote environmental sustainability
- Ensures compliance with all applicable health and safety standards and the execution of safety operational control plans.

Position Requirements:

  • Graduate of General Biology, Biology with major in Microbiology, BS Microbiology; Food Technology or allied courses with theoretical and laboratory subjects in microbiology
  • Preferably with 6 months experience in quality assurance or quality control laboratory from a Food/Beverage Industry, Pharmaceutical Industry or ISO 17025 Accredited Laboratory
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

·       Highly analytical – able to organize and report technical data, and interpret trends
