What you'll be doing

  1. Manage and oversee all research and development activities
  2. Lead a team of food scientists, technologists and quality assurance personnel to ensure product quality, safety and regulatory compliance
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, marketing and sales, to identify and develop new product concepts and improvements
  4. Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for product innovation and differentiation
  5. Monitor and stay up-to-date with industry regulations, trends and best practices in food technology and safety
  6. Develop and implement robust quality control and testing procedures to ensure product consistency and safety
  7. Provide technical expertise and training to production staff to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality
  8. Manage R&D budgets and resources to support the company's growth and innovation objectives

What we're looking for

  1. Bachelor's degree in food science, food technology, or a related scientific field
  2. Minimum 7 years of experience in a food R&D or food manufacturing role, with a proven track record of successful new product development
  3. Strong knowledge of food science, processing technologies, and regulatory requirements for the food industry
  4. Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  5. Effective leadership and team management abilities, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team
  6. Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  7. Proficiency in using data analysis tools and software to support R&D activities
