Core Responsibilities

· Waste Management & Optimisation: Manage the operation and performance of lagoon systems and advanced wastewater facilities to ensure superior water quality and safe land application of treated nutrients and solids.

· Biogas Energy Recovery: Oversee anaerobic digester systems, focusing on methane production efficiency, troubleshooting operational issues, and developing strategies for resource recovery

· Compliance & Reporting: Secure and maintain all required environmental permits and submit timely, accurate regulatory reports.

· Project Leadership: Lead the conceptual design, budgeting, and execution of environmental infrastructure capital projects

· Safety & SOPs: Develop SOPs and provide staff training to ensure consistent, safe, and compliant operation of all environmental control points.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

· Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering.

· Experience: Minimum of 5 years professional experience in wastewater treatment, with at least 2 years specifically focused on agricultural waste and/or anaerobic digestion/biogas facilities.

· Specialised Experience: Candidates must have specific experience in agricultural waste treatment systems rather than general wastewater treatment backgrounds.

· Certifications: Professional Engineer (P.E.) licence highly desirable.

Key Skills

· Deep technical knowledge of biological and chemical processes in swine manure management.

· Proven history managing environmental compliance and complex permitting.

· Demonstrated experience leading complex environmental permitting processes and managing multi-permit coordination responsibilities.

· Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to work within an agricultural environment, including exposure to odours and outdoor conditions.
